Lars Jakob Rudjord: “Night Sky” (Single)
Release date: Friday, February 14th, 2020

A crackling sneak peak from new album

Norwegian pianist and composer Lars Jakob Rudjord is due with the second single from his upcoming album Let Tomorrow Be Better, that drops on March 20th. Night Sky is the album’s opening track, setting the precedence for 50 minutes of new music meant to bring hope, encouragement and faith in mankind, in a time where we struggle with extreme challenges like climate change and political unrest. Highly inspired by nature, but also from personal relationships, love, hope, longing and affection, the album’s 10 songs invite the listeners on a journey towards a better world.

With Night Sky, Lars Jakob Rudjord poetically describes how we as a human kind often find ourselves small and insignificant when looking up towards the majestic and vast starry sky: - Ever since I was a child I had this love/hate relationship to the sky. I loved watching the evening sky with its beautiful colours. In daytime it was exciting to fantasise and make up stories about the clouds passing by on the blue sky. And the stars, of course. But I was always kind of anxious, especially when watching the stars. You know, wondering if there’s an end out there…. I think everyone has experienced this at some point, Rudjord says.

Rudjord has released a number of singles, an EP and two solo albums already, all of them to stunning reviews. With the new single, he offers a taste of  what to expect from his third solo album: soothing, intimate and melodic instrumental music packed with emotion. Following up the two previous albums, Rudjord continues to develop his very own sound, and this time he has self-produced everything at home in his own studio. Although his old grand piano is the center of his musical universe, he seasons every track tastefully with vintage gems like Fender Rhodes, Casio keyboards, Philicorda organs, synths and even the old pump organ he inherited from his Grandfather.
